#TaoofTwitter
I recently read Mark Schaefer’s book Tao of Twitter and I learned so much more about Twitter than I thought possible. I couldn’t believe how much there was to know about how to use Twitter. For me, Twitter is where you post your random/funny thoughts or where you go to see what everyone is talking about in current news. I don’t really get on Twitter anymore, but after reading Mark’s book I plan on being more active on it again. I didn’t realize how easily you can connect with potential employers on there and also the different ways to advertise on Twitter. I think we all know when a tweet is being promoted, but did you know they can target who sees that tweet and oh my gosh…the power of the hashtag. I mean all you have to do is search #Nike and you can see what people are saying about them.

5 Ways to Feel Better When Your Sick
1. Get some sleep.
When you are sick with a cold, bug, the flu, etc your body is at its
weakest and you have no energy. Your
body is telling you it needs to rest so listen to it and stay in bed! You’ll
be glad you did!
2. Call your
mom. When I’m sick the first person I
call is my mom. Just hearing her voice
is comforting and she always knows the best medicine I should take.
3. Take medicine. I think this is common sense, but some
people think they can just ride it out and you don’t have to put yourself
through that. Go to the doctor and get
the antibiotics or the drugstore to get some Nyquil. You will get better a lot quicker.
4. Hot soup. Oh my. The feeling of some hot chicken noodle
soup when you are stopped up is the absolute best. And #Chick-Fil-A has some amazing chicken
noodle soup.
5. Netflix. There’s
no better time to spend hours watching random #Netflix movies than when you are
in bed all day. End of story.

#SNL40
So #SNL had their 40th anniversary show last
Sunday and it was great…just great. Seeing all the past cast members and past
musical guests was so cool and they did an amazing job. You could tell everyone was so excited to be
there and they did some popular past sketches.
One of my favorites was the #Jeopardy skit with #Will Ferrell. The thing about SNL that’s so great is you
can look at past episodes and see what was happening in that period, whether
politics, pop culture, or current events.
It’s also hilarious and sometimes awkward to see high profile
celebrities making themselves look ridiculous. The cast is so brilliant and
fearless. I don’t know where they get
the confidence to do the things they do on stage and live at that, but they do
and kill it. #SNL is a piece of our
culture and they also seem to have a gift of giving us the funniest movie
stars. So if you don’t want to stay home and watch the episode live, don’t
worry! They post their episodes on SNL.com!

#Recipes
I want to share some easy recipes that I love to make and think you'll enjoy!
CHICKEN PARMESAN
CHICKEN PARMESAN
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 28-ounce can tomatoes, lightly pulsed in a blender or food processor
- 2 teaspoons coarse salt
- 3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts (3 whole breasts, split down the middle)
- 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, plus more if needed
- 1 1/2 pounds fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced thin
- DIRECTIONS
- Heat a saucepan over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of the olive oil, the garlic, and the red pepper flakes. Stir for 30 seconds. Add the tomatoes and 1/2 teaspoon of the salt. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, working on a large surface covered in baking parchment or plastic wrap, lay down the chicken breasts. Using a sharp slicing knife, cut each piece in half horizontally through the middle.
- In a large prep pan or dish, combine the bread crumbs and 1/2 cup of the Parmesan cheese. Spread out to cover the whole bottom of the pan. Lay down as many chicken breasts as will fit on the mixture. Sprinkle salt and pepper over each piece and turn over, completely coating with the bread-crumb mixture. Repeat the process with the remaining pieces of chicken.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Swirl in 2 tablespoons of olive oil, along with butter, to coat the pan. Add the chicken breasts in one layer and cook until golden, about 3 minutes on each side. Remove and repeat the process for the remaining chicken, adding a little oil and butter to the pan as needed.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Spoon some tomato sauce into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish to cover. Layer in the chicken pieces and top with mozzarella slices. Spoon over about 1 1/4 cups more sauce, and sprinkle on the remaining 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese. Bake until golden and bubbling, 30 to 35 minutes. Let rest for at least 15 minutes before serving.
- CHICKEN FAJITAS
- 1 teaspoon pure chile powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 whole skinless, boneless chicken breast (about 1 pound), cut into 1/2-inch strips
- 1 green bell pepper—cored, seeded and cut into thin strips
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, plus lime wedges for serving
- 8 flour tortillas, warmed in the microwave
- Shredded lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, salsa and sour cream, for serving
- DIRECTIONS
- In a resealable plastic bag, combine the chile powder with the salt, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, cornstarch, water and 2 tablespoons of the oil. Add the chicken, bell pepper and onion, seal and knead gently to coat. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil in a large nonstick skillet until shimmering. Empty the contents of the bag into the skillet and cook over high heat, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are crisp-tender and the chicken is cooked through, about 6 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the lime juice.
- Transfer the chicken and vegetables to a large bowl and serve with the warmed tortillas, lettuce, cheese, salsa, sour cream and lime wedges.
Apple Ads
Most likely you have seen some of these ads before and I'm willing to
bet you know what all of these devices are. As we all know Apple has
changed the face of technology forever and in my opinion for the better. They also
have some pretty f a n t a s t i c advertising.
I am a lover of short, to the point copy and they are pioneers of
this. I also love when ads are sleek and
clean with no clutter and a million things going on. They again are pioneers at this. You can also see through their advertising
how much confidence they have in their products and their brand. Of course I know they are trying to persuade
you to buy their products through their ads, but they make it seem as if they
are just telling you about the newest, coolest product they have and saying, “If
you don’t buy this, you won’t be cool and up to date”, which seems to be
working because they are a billion dollar company.

Need to see movies 2014
There have been so many good movies this past year that I
felt I should share some of them with you.
So I’m going to name some of my favorite movies that have come out in
the past year and why I loved them.
In no order:
1. Boyhood
This movie took 12 years to make so there’s that. Not literally 12 years, but more like one
week a year for 12 years. It chronicles
the transition from being a boy to a man starting in 2002 ending in 2014 with
the same actors. It was such an
experience to see a 6 year old literally transform into an 18 year old by the
end of the movie. It’s one of the
realest movies I’ve ever seen. Great
acting also.
2. Gone
Girl
Okay where do I start?
I mean this movie had so many twists that I was getting anxiety watching
it. I didn’t read the book and still
loved the film so much. This is what you
call a movie. It’s one of the best plots
I’ve ever seen in a movie and does such a good job of tricking the
audience. You never know what is coming
next…
3. The
Fault in Our Stars
Now I’m usually not into movies like this, but this movie
was an exception. I think it had to do
with Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort (the lead actors). This was more than a typical teenage, cancer
love story. It had depth and
realism. It was a beautiful movie.
4. Blended
I will always have a soft spot for Adam Sandler, even though
his recent movies have been flops. This
movie, however, was actually really good.
His chemistry with Drew Barrymore is so perfect and they can do no
wrong. This was a light-hearted comedy
that was actually funny, in that Adam Sandler type of way, but still
funny. I’m putting this movie on here
because it’s underrated and you should watch it for a good laugh.
#Superbowl 2015
So the #Superbowl was last Sunday as we all know and there were some pretty emotional ads. I mean they were really tugging on our heartstrings this year. With #Busweiser’s puppy ad and #Coca-Cola’s cyber bullying ad, they really wanted you to feel something. As fun as it is to watch the funny ads, it’s nice to know that advertisers are trying to connect to their consumers and it’s also smart because we respond to that. I’ve noticed through the years they have gotten more serious. They used to be your regular funny Doritos and Budlight ad, but they have taken their platform to another level. Something else to note is this year’s Superbowl was the most watched TV program with 171 million viewers, which is crazy when you think about it. 171 million people all watching the same thing? I couldn’t imagine the amount of pressure advertisers feel coming up with the ideas for the most important ads of the year, but I hope to one day. Also congrats to #Dont’a Hightower (Patriots linebacker) who I went to highschool with in my little hometown of Lewisburg, TN!
Here are my top 5 Superbowl ads:

2.
3.
