Snapchat loses their "best friends".
I'm
writing this post because I find it hilarious how upset people got over
Snapchat's recent update. As we all know, they got rid of the best
friends tab. Well Twitter went crazy after this. Mostly people were mad
because they now weren't going to be able to keep track on their significant
other. Others just admittedly like being nosey and seeing who their
friends are snapchatting. I find it
interesting how it use to be Facebook or Twitter (where practically anyone can
look you up) that people would stalk other people but now even our closest friends
can stalk us on Snapchat..or they could. What is the obsession with staking
people online? I mean it is scary how
much you can find out about someone without even so much as saying one word to
them, just from a couple of websites.
Maybe this isn’t a bad thing though.
Maybe it actually makes our life easier.
We don’t have to spend all that time getting to know someone only to
realize we don’t actually have that much in common. But what about the times you think you don’t like
someone from seeing their online profiles only to get to know them in person
and find out they’re actually really cool?
What does that say about social media?
I mean are we completely honest about who we are on social media or do
we put out an image we want people to think we are?
